 Dermaplaning Facial FAQs:

  • Dermaplaning is the manual exfoliation of the uppermost layer of the skin. Using a single-use, stainless steel surgical blade we are able to effectively & painlessly exfoliate. With consistent treatment intervals, Dermaplaning is anti-aging by promoting faster cellular turnover. Furthermore, your skincare regime is immediately more effective by now reaching the deeper layers, further increasing this services antiaging benefits.

  • Deep Cleanse, Skin Prep, Dermaplaning, Extractions, Custom Mask, Hyaluronic Serum, Cold Globe massage, Moisturizer & SPF.

    • Under 18 years old

    • If you are currently taking or have been on Accutane within the last year

    • If you have grade 3 or 4 acne

    • If you have uncontrolled Diabetes (a Doctors note is required if it is controlled)

    • Are currently receiving chemotherapy and/or radiation or have received treatments within the last year

    • If you have Hemophilia or a bleeding disorders

    • Impaired circulation or healing disorders

    • Active Cold Sore outbreak

    • Have a current contagious skin infection

    • Stop using Retinol for 5-7 days prior to your appointment

    • Book Dermaplaning 2 weeks before or after Fillers and/or Botox/Dysport

    • Do not book your service if you have an active sunburn

    • Space apart Dermaplaning 1 month or more between laser treatments or medium depth chemical peels

    • If you have active Psoriasis, Eczema or Dermatitis we will need to work around affected areas

    • Active acne - Please note, while Dermaplaning can reduce outbreaks via exfoliation, we cannot go over any pimples. Areas on the face with active outbreaks will need to be avoided

    • Take antiviral medications 2 weeks before if you get cold-sores to reduce you chances of an outbreak

    • You may experience minor redness or a stinging sensation from the exfoliation. If this occurs, it settles quickly

    • after your service do not apply retinols or products containing acids (AHA/BHA etc.) for 5-7 days

    • Do not receive a medium depth peel or laser within 2 weeks of receiving Dermaplaning

    • You will be sun-sensitive so like always, SPF is a must!

  • To boost the anti-aging benefits of Dermaplaning, treatment every 4 weeks is ideal to increase your cellular regeneration.

    • Ideally you allow the your fresh skin to breath but if you must, you can apply makeup immediately after

    • Dermaplaning is often received the day of events for fresh glowing skin & flawless makeup application

    • You may experience minor redness from the exfoliation. If this occurs, it settles quickly
